Seven years after his birth he already started sailing in 1992. After a short period in 420 (1999- 2001) (Austrian champion and some international top 3 results) Thomas moved to the tornado class in 2002 with Thomas Czajka. They became Youth European- and Youth World Champion. After the Tornado got kicked out of the Olympics they were sailing for 2 Years 49er, before the Nacra17 become an Olympic class. In 2013 he started sailing with Tanja Frank on the Nacra17. They were leading the world ranking list, had some medals in World Cups and a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. Since 2017 he’s preparing with Barbara Matz for the Olympics in Tokyo.
