Sailmon’s technical organization holds all the technical expertise to support our customers but also supports and inspires our ongoing development team on product and service development and improvement.

Job overview

Do you have the required knowledge?

  • IP networking- UDP/TCP IP
  • Setting up networks
  • NMEA2000 networks and PGN’s
  • NMEA0183 and sentences -baudrates
  • UDP wiring/ serial / NMEA2000
  • System troubleshooting and Sailmon interfacing plus other instrument systems for Desk


Plus hands-on knowledge of:

  • Electrical drawings and layouts in Visio
  • Assembly of electronic parts and systems
  • Wiring up systems of other manufacturers than Sailmon


Then we have a job for you with the following responsibilities:

  • 1st line point of contact for technical questions from dealers or customers through our customer support desk and email
  • Management of our customer support system, Support tickets, in a professional and client friendly manner
  • Technical sales support to our Sales team
  • Technical installation drawings for dealers and customers
  • Continued knowledge base with NavDesk / bug tracking
  • Technical user manuals updating
  • Product assembly for urgent delivery or special requirements like a Button box, Windbox or RMA Model displays
  • Assistance in bug detection NavDesk software releases
  • Hardware research


Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrable (3 years plus) technical experience with manufacturers and end users in the marine industry
  • Friendly and customer driven, our customers are very important to us and need to be valued and respected, a problem-solving friendly mindset is key in this role
  • Demonstrable strength in relationship management and the ability to operate in small and larger teams
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a problem solving mindset
  • Open communication – We believe that communication is the key to Sailmon’s success. You are able to actively listen and come up with  numerous possibilities at the same time 
  • Learning mindset – Working experience / affinity with Marine electronics and the drive to understand the product inside out.
  • Ability to push yourself and others. We don’t accept mediocrity. Constant changes in technology, market pressure and customer needs requires a Sales organisation with an open mind and genuine curiosity

Education / Experience

  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in the Marine industry
  • Fluent in English written and verbal, French or German is an advantage
  • MBO or HBO in electrical engineering (Netherlands), MBA international is preferable or equal working experience
  • International working / sailing Experience preferred.

Personal

  • Located in The Netherlands or willing to move.
